We've just released a new update! (v 0.078.9)

After months of development, we're happy to announce the public release of the CGoCI v0.078.9: The Infinite Animations and Idle Dungeons!

This update features many changes at a technical and at an artistic scale. We've started forming a small team of developers to assist development, which allows us to experiment and add much larger features going forward.

This update features two major additions: The Infinite Dungeon! and New Animations and Art!

As we're starting into the realm of becoming more rogue-lite, the game now experimentally features an infinite mode. This game mode continuously generates multi-floor caves and encounters as the player travels from floor to floor, surviving and stealing, and ultimately getting cursed. The options so far are limited, but we're hoping to make this mode stronger and more diverse as development continues and we're able to balance the unbalanced curses better over time.

We also put in a large amount of work reworking the art and creating a new animation system to support the oddity of moving around while the main character continues to transform. There are very few animations in place so far, however every transformation and form now supports four facing angles. The inventory screen also fully supports visuals for equipped or worn items. We hope to expand this into the game world in the future, and further delve into odder oddities to look at!

In the interim, we're taking a short break and planning a shorter game. We'll be using the same engine of CGoCI, to experiment and build out game mechanics and refine the current feature set. The goal of this shorter experimental game is to give us a chance to finish something with a clear end product. Our hope is that any learning and success we take from that game will be brought back into this game, or that it will help us build something even better!
